Offer a choice of items

Let a ticket come with two of five gifts, or one of three, instead of offering each one on its own.

A session comes with its own options, so choosing from one works out of the box. Items don't. Five gifts are five separate things, and a ticket that offered all five would let somebody take all five.

Group them, and the group carries the rule.

1. Open the ticket type and find What comes with it

2. Select Add something, then Group items into a choice

   It only appears once the ticket has two or more items on it. One item on its own is not a choice.

3. Name it

   The name is what buyers read above the options, so write it for them. "Your free gift" rather than "Gift group".

4. Tick the items that belong in it

   They keep their own prices. Leave them at nothing and it's a free gift, or price them and the buyer pays for what they pick.

5. Set How many they choose

   The same two boxes a session uses. At least 0 and At most 2 is "up to two of these, or none at all".

6. Select Save

   A choice belongs to that one ticket type. The same five items can be a

   choice of two on a family ticket and a choice of one on a regular one, and each ticket's rule is its own.

Good to know

• Items in a choice are tick boxes rather than quantities, so nobody takes two of the same one.
• A booker buying several of one ticket answers the choice for each of them. Two supporter tickets is two gifts, one for each person, and they can be different. Where every ticket takes the same item, the order says it back as one line with the count.
• A booker who picks too few, or too many, is asked again on the screen that asked, with what they had already chosen still ticked.
• Each one they tick holds its own stock. A choice whose items have all sold out stops being asked, and one with two of three gone asks for what's left.
• The ticket type's list says the rule back to you: "They pick 0 to 2 of 5".
• Ungroup takes the choice off and leaves the items where they were, as ordinary add-ons on that ticket. They stay in your catalogue either way.
