What you can do here

There are three kinds here. A Session is something people attend, an Item is something they take home, and a Donation is an amount they give.

What each ticket type gets

An offering's own page has a Ticket types row under Details. Each ticket type on it takes one of four answers, and the control offers only what that kind can do for people.

  • Off keeps it off that ticket.
  • Included gives it to everybody who buys one.
  • Choice asks the buyer to pick from its options.
  • Add-on offers it beside the ticket at a price.

Each answer saves as you make it.

A ticket you switch on starts with a default. A session is included with the ticket, an item is an optional add-on at its own price, and a donation is an add-on the buyer chooses the amount for. Edit how they get it in the row's menu is where you change it, and what you set there belongs to that one ticket type.

Working from the other end, Add something beside What comes with it on a ticket type's page lists everything you already have that could go on that ticket. Tick what you want and it all arrives at once, each on the same default.

Every line under What comes with it is written from the buyer's side.

  • Included comes with the ticket.
  • They can add is an optional extra they pay for.
  • They can opt in is one thing they may take or leave.

A real choice counts what's in it, as in "They pick 1 of 5", and a range reads back both boxes, as in "They pick 0 to 2 of 5".

Remove from ticket type in the row's menu takes the offering off that one. It stays on every other ticket type that offers it.

What an item's page shows

An item's own page opens with its price, what's been issued, what's pending, and what's left. Issued counts what's been paid for, and pending counts what's being held right now and hasn't been paid for yet. A held item takes stock the same way a paid one does, and goes back on sale if the order isn't paid in time. An item with no quantity set shows ∞.

People see the same count. An item's quantity picker on the event page stops at whatever runs out first, what's left or the most one order may hold, and an item with nothing left keeps its row and reads None left.

Finding one

Offerings has a search box, a Filter menu and a count of what it's showing, the same as your ticket types.

Search matches the name and the line under it, so "workshop" finds the offering called Workshops and the item called Workshop place. Filter narrows to sessions, items or donations.

Reorder, beside New offering, sets the order these appear in on your event page, including among the ticket types.

Stopping and restarting sales

The On sale switch is beside Edit at the top of an offering's own page. It takes effect straight away, with nothing to save.

Off sale stops new orders and leaves every order that already bought it as it was.

To take something out of Offerings altogether, see Remove an offering.

A session's times each have an On sale switch too, on the time's own page, so you can close one time and leave the rest selling.

Turning a session off sale closes every time under it.

The session leaves the event page, and a ticket type that includes it stops giving it out. Each time keeps its own setting, so turning the session back on reopens whatever was open before.

When an item belongs to one person

Some items are for a particular attendee: a dinner, a place at a workshop, a shirt in a size. Turn on Ask which ticket each one is for on the item's Advanced tab. People then get an extra step before they pay, choosing a ticket for each one. The item shows on that person's ticket, and at the door.

Asking adds a step to your checkout.
