Put a canceled order back

Undo a cancellation. The order returns to paid, its tickets work again, and their places come off sale.

3 steps · About 1 minute

  1. Open the order from Orders

    Your eventOrders
    go.tito.io/acme/summer-fetes-summer-fete/admin/orders
  2. Select Actions, then Reinstate order

  3. Read what comes back, then confirm

The page says how many tickets start working again. Confirming returns the order to paid and takes their places off sale, so nobody else can buy them.

Email the buyer is off unless you turn it on. Turn it on when they were told the order was canceled and need to know it's back.

The buyer's card won't be charged, and nothing is sent back to them.

If you returned their money when you canceled, you'll need to take it again yourself.

A ticket you canceled on its own stays canceled.

Its share of the order may already have been refunded, and nothing here can take a refund back. Only the tickets the order's own cancellation stopped come back.

If the places have gone, the page tells you before you confirm.

Canceling puts places back on sale, so somebody else may have bought them. When that's happened the page says how many places over you'd be. Putting the order back still works, and the ticket type reads as oversold in Reports until you raise the number on sale or another place comes free.

Not every canceled order can come back.

An order canceled before it was ever paid has no tickets to bring back, so create a new order for the buyer instead. An order a buyer replaced by changing it points at the new order, which holds everything they bought. An invitation's order comes back from the invitation. In each case the page says which one it is.

Good to know

  • The order keeps its reference, its tickets keep theirs, and passes already on a phone start working again on their own.
  • History on the order records who put it back and when.
  • The same action is available through the API as POST /api/v1/orders/{ref}/reinstate.
