Ask a question after tickets have sold
Add a question once the event is selling, and ask it of the people who already have their tickets.

Create the question and choose who answers it
Nothing about this is different because the event is selling, and anyone registering from now on is asked at checkout. See Ask attendees a question and Choose who answers a question.

Open Attendees and look at the people who already have tickets

Check that attendees can still change their own details
It's in the event's Settings, then After registering. Stop attendees changing their details starts off, and while it's off, everyone with a ticket can answer from their own ticket page using Update ticket details.

Open Messages and select New message

Send to Everyone with a valid ticket, then Narrow it down
Add Ticket details and choose Not filled in. The count at the end of the line is how many people are short something.

Put a Button in the message and point it at Their ticket
That's the page Update ticket details opens from. Say in the message what you're asking for and by when.

Check the answers on the question's own page
Answers counts every choice, and No answer is who's left. See See what people answered.
Good to know
It's every ticket missing a name, an email address, or any required answer. Somebody who never named their guest is in that list too.
Open them from Attendees and select Edit. A required answer can be left blank when you're the one filling it in, so you can record what you know and leave the rest.
- Making the question Must answer stops nobody who has already bought. It's checked when an order is placed or a ticket is claimed, so it applies from the next one onwards.
- Turning Stop attendees changing their details on takes the answering away again. The ticket page then says so where the edit link was, and What to tell them is that sentence. See Let buyers fix their own booking.
