Hand out codes for a discount

One code for everyone, a batch of unique ones per sponsor, or a list you already have.

8 steps · About 3 minutes · Needs: A coupon to attach them to

  1. Answer What kind of codes do you need?

This is the second step of setting up a coupon, and it opens as soon as you've saved the discount. To come back to it later, open the coupon and select Add a code, Generate codes or Import codes.

    go.tito.io/acme/summer-fete/admin/coupons/1?codes=1
  2. For a code you print or put in a newsletter, choose One code everybody uses

Code starts from the coupon's own name, and you can type over it. There's no limit on how many people use it.

  3. For codes that work once each, choose A batch of one-off codes

Set How many, up to 500 at a time. Start every code with gives them all the same opening, such as SPONSOR, and the rest of each code is random.

  4. For codes a group shares, choose A batch of codes with a shared limit

Set How many times each code can be used as well. Every code in the batch gets that limit.

  5. For codes you already have, choose Codes you already have

Add codes opens the import screen. Paste them under Paste codes, or upload a CSV file. The import runs when every row is valid, and invalid rows are listed by line number.

  6. Say What it’s for, or leave it out

Only you see what you write there. It shows under the codes in your lists, so you can tell one batch from another.

  7. Select Add codes

  8. Open a code for a link that applies it

Link that applies this code is a link to your event page with the code already on the order. Copy it and send it to whoever the code is for. It works even when the promotion code field is hidden on your event page.

Every batch stays on the coupon's page.

You can download a whole batch as a CSV at any time.
