Delete an event

Delete an event that has never taken a payment, with everything in it.

2 steps · About 2 minutes

The account's owner can delete an event that has never taken a payment, even one that was refunded later. Any other event can be archived instead, and its attendee data can be anonymized. See Your first event and Data protection.

  1. Open the event, then choose Delete event… from the ⋯ menu beside its name

An archived event also has Delete event… in its row's ⋯ menu on Events.

  2. Type the event's name, then select Delete event or Delete in 30 days

When the event is deleted

An event nobody has registered for, been invited to or asked for a ticket for, with no message sent about it, is deleted straight away. Its web address is free, so a new event can use it.

Any other event is deleted 30 days later, with its orders, tickets and attendees. Until then:

  • registration is closed, and the event page is hidden as it is for an archived event
  • a red bar at the top of every page of the event shows the day it will be deleted
  • everybody who can manage the event gets an email about it

Its web address isn't used again, by a new event or anything else.

Keeping an event you asked to delete

Select Keep this event on the red bar, from any page of the event, or from the event's ⋯ menu on Events. Registration opens again, as it was before. Anyone who can manage events can keep it.

You can't undo a delete once it happens.

The event's ticket types, pages, discounts, design and settings are deleted with it. Questions you attached stay in your question library.

Delete event… isn't in the menu?

Only the account's owner sees it, and only on an event that has never taken a payment and wasn't brought in by an import.
