What you can do here

The page starts with what an invoice needs: your business, then your bank details. Document numbering comes next, then the vendor form, grouped by what a customer's finance team asks about.

How prices show tax, and whether buyers can book as a company, are under Checkout. Whether a given event offers pay-by-bank-transfer is a separate choice on the event.

Filling in Account holder and IBAN is what lets an account sell by bank transfer with no payment service connected. Buyers get those details and the order reference, and you mark each order paid when the money arrives.

With Stripe connected as well, Where transfers go chooses which of the two buyers are sent to. It starts on Stripe, so filling in your bank details never moves anybody off it on its own.

Good to know

  • Every paid order has a receipt, and the receipt has everything an invoice has. The buyer opens it from their order page, and you open it from the order. An order waiting for a bank transfer has an invoice instead.
  • A receipt for a card or PayPal payment shows its transaction ID, to look up in Stripe or PayPal.
  • A question you ask once per order can be printed on the invoice, which is where a purchase order number or a cost center goes. A question asked of each attendee has an answer per person, so the switch isn't offered there. See Choose who answers a question.
  • If an unpaid order changes or is canceled after its invoice was issued, the invoice is canceled with a credit note, which opens from the order. A changed order also gets a new invoice number, and its history and the buyer's email name all three. Credit notes are numbered under Document numbering.
  • Who an invoice is billed to comes from the buyer (see Bank transfers and invoices), and you can update it.
  • Leave Legal / trading name blank and the invoice says it doesn't include your business details. It still issues, and it still takes a number.
  • The date of supply on an invoice is the date the event starts. An event whose dates are free text has none to show.
