Make a form people ask on
A shareable form with your own questions, its own ticket types and its own closing date.

Open Ticket requests and select New request form
You can have several on one event.

Give it a Name
Only you see it.

Set the Heading on the form if you want one
Leave it blank and people see the event name.

Under Ticket types on the form, tick what people can ask for
Set Most they can ask for to 1 and the form leaves out the quantity question.
You can start from a ticket type instead. Its Where it’s shown list has every request form you haven't archived, and ticking one there offers that ticket here. See Choose where a ticket is sold. -
Set the options you want
Close requests on a date keeps the link working afterwards, and the form says requests have closed. Email the people you don’t accept starts off, so turning somebody down sends nothing. Turn it on and write one message that goes to everybody.

Check the Address and select Save
That's the link you share. Nothing on the event page mentions requests.
How do you decide? can't change later, so pick it carefully.You review each one, A random draw and It runs if enough people ask each have their own settings and their own steps for the person asking. Once somebody has asked, the choice is fixed.
