Give something away with a ticket

Put a tote bag, a t-shirt or a gift on a ticket at no cost, and let people pick which one they want.

8 steps · About 3 minutes

An item on a ticket at no cost comes with it automatically. People see it marked Included on the event page, and it appears on their order without being asked for.

  1. Open Offerings and select New offering

    Your eventSet upOfferings
  2. Pick An included extra, then answer Something they get

Answer Something they attend instead for a thing with a time on it, like access to the afterparty. See Let people choose which session to attend.

  3. Name it, and set how many you have

Leave the quantity empty for as many as you need.

  4. Say who it's for, then select Save

It goes on every ticket type unless you say otherwise. Turn on Only offer it for certain ticket types and pick the ones you want.

Letting them choose which one

A ticket with five items on it lets somebody take all five. Grouping them is how a ticket comes with one of the five, or two.

  1. Open the ticket type and find What comes with it

  2. Select Add something, then Group items into a choice

It appears once the ticket has two or more items on it.

  3. Name it, and tick the items that belong in it

Buyers read the name above the options, so write it for them. "Your free gift" is better than "Gift group". The items keep their own prices. Leave them at nothing for a free gift, or price them and the buyer pays for what they pick.

  4. Set How many they choose, then select Save

At least 0 and At most 2 is up to two of these, or none at all.

A choice belongs to that one ticket type.

The same five items can be a choice of two on a family ticket and a choice of one on a regular one.

The choice's name is a link to its own page, where you can ask a question about it. See Choose who answers a question.

When you run out

An included item that runs out doesn't stop the ticket selling. Bookers past that point get the ticket without the item, and your stock is never oversold.

A choice whose items have all sold out stops being asked. One with two of three gone asks for what's left.

A held item takes stock the same way a paid one does, and goes back on sale if the order isn't paid in time. The item's own page counts both. See What an item's page shows.

Good to know

  • Items in a choice are tick boxes, so nobody takes two of the same one.
  • A booker buying several of one ticket answers the choice for each of them. Two supporter tickets is two gifts, one for each person, and they can be different.
  • Ungroup takes the choice off and leaves the items where they were, as ordinary add-ons on that ticket.
