Give a tool access to your account

Create a key scoped to exactly what the tool needs, and nothing else.

1. Open Account settings then API

   Your accountSettings

2. Enter an API key name

   Name it after the thing that will use it.

   go.tito.io/acme/admin/settings/api/new

3. Tick what the key can do

   Each line says what it lets a tool do, with the scope name a developer needs underneath. Or start from Read-only, Door / check-in, or Everything my role can do, and adjust the boxes from there.

4. Select Create API key

   The secret is shown once.

   Copy it with the button beside it and store it somewhere safe. Only its hash is kept from this point, so a lost key has to be revoked and replaced.
