Task · Your theme on your own machine
Share a preview before anything goes live
Send a colleague a link to the theme running on your laptop, without publishing anything.
3 steps · About 2 minutes · Needs: A theme folder you have pulled into
The Customize studio changes the colors, images and wording on every screen people see, against a live preview and with nothing to install. Start there.
-
Run
titogo localAs well as the address for your own machine, it prints a public one,
Public preview: https://..., which anybody can open. -
Send that link to whoever is signing the work off
They see what you see, as you save files, and your live site doesn't change.
-
Stop the command when the review is over
The address stops working the moment you do. The pages are served straight from your laptop.
Good to know
The pages have no password, so treat the link the way you'd treat a shared document and stop the command when you're finished.
A machine signed in with titogo login gets a preview address named after your account, so a link you shared on Monday still works on Wednesday. Without that you get a temporary address, which can change while you're still working. Anybody holding the old link is looking at nothing. If somebody is reviewing your work, sign in first.
- One preview per account at a time. If a colleague is already previewing the same account, your preview waits and picks the address up within half a minute of them stopping. Or stop and run
titogo local -tunnel-anonymousfor a temporary address alongside theirs. - A preview address is retired after 24 hours. A named one comes straight back on the same address, and a temporary one comes back on a new one.
- If the preview can't be opened, the command says so, keeps serving on your own machine, and keeps trying in the background. Temporary addresses are rationed, so this can mean too many have been handed out today, which is another reason to sign in.
