Make an event secret

Keep an event off your public lists, with every link you've already shared still working.

4 steps · About 2 minutes

  1. Open the event's Settings

    Your eventSettings
  2. Turn on Secret event

    go.tito.io/acme/summer-fete/admin/settings
  3. Select Save

  4. To undo it, come back here and turn Secret event off

A secret event has a Secret label beside its name on its own overview and on your events list. Selecting the one on the overview opens this panel.

Good to know

A secret event keeps taking orders.

Nothing about the tickets changes, and whatever was on sale stays on sale. What goes away is the advertising. The event comes off your public event list, off its series page, and off the event list on your own site if you've built one. Anybody else opening the event's own page gets "page not found".

Every link you gave somebody yourself keeps working.

Audience pages, portal links, invitations, and the order and ticket links already in people's inboxes all carry on working exactly as before.

  • To look at the page yourself, use View event page. It opens for you, with a line across the top saying that only you can see it. Your own access lasts about an hour. After that you get "page not found" too, and using the button again gives you another hour.
