Set up a card reader at the desk

Pair a physical reader so you can take card payments in person.

4 steps · About 4 minutes · Needs: Stripe connected, and the reader in front of you

1. Open On-site

   If it's not in the sidebar, add it from All features at the foot of the sidebar list. See Features.

2. On the reader itself, generate its Pairing code

   It's under Settings on the reader's own screen.

3. Under Register a reader, enter a Name and the Pairing code

   Name it after where it stands, for example "Front desk". An internet-connected smart reader also needs its Stripe location ID.

4. Select Register reader

   The reader gets a Door page link and a PIN. Open that link on a phone at the desk to ring up sales.

   If registering doesn't work, the form comes back with the name, pairing code and Stripe location ID still in it. Correct what's wrong and select Register reader again.
