Take a card payment at the door

Sell a ticket in person and take the card payment on a reader there and then.

3 steps · About 1 minute · Needs: A registered reader

  1. Open the reader's Door page link on a phone at the desk

The phone needs no admin sign-in.

  2. Enter the door PIN once to unlock the phone

If the PIN screen comes back mid-sale, unlocking keeps the quantities you rang up. Nothing is charged until you press the charge button again.

  3. Pick a ticket type and ring up the sale

The amount goes to the reader for the buyer to tap their card. It's the same price the event page asks for.

An event that sells in more than one currency shows a row of currencies above the ticket types.

Pick one and the page reprices in it. The card is charged in it too. Only ticket types with a price in that currency appear. Switching currencies clears any quantities already entered.

A door that can't take a card says so at the top and offers no charge button.

That happens when the reader isn't registered with Stripe, or when the account has no payments set up. Both are fixed from On-site.

A door sale makes an ordinary order.

Tickets and a confirmation go out the moment the card is approved.

One sale at a time per reader.

While a sale is waiting for a card, the door page links back to it instead of starting another. Finish it or cancel it first. Canceling stops the reader taking the card. If the card was tapped in the same moment, the sale completes and the tickets go out as normal.
