Build a contact list
Group people from your address book once, then filter, export or invite them together.
9 steps · About 3 minutes
A list has a name and the people you put in it.
-
Open Contacts, then Contact lists
Your accountContacts -
Select New list, name it, and save
go.tito.io/acme/admin/contacts/lists -
Open the list, then select Add people
That opens the address book with the list already chosen.
-
Tick the people you want, then choose Add selected to a list… from Actions
-
Check the list is right and select Add to list
Where the search runs to more than one page, ticking everyone takes the page you're looking at, and a link by the count takes the whole search instead.
Finding somebody on a list
A list's own page has Search this list once there are three or more people on it, and it pages through the rest.
Renaming and archiving
Each row's menu has Rename list and Archive. Archiving keeps everyone on the list and stops the list being offered anywhere. Restore brings it back.
Taking people off
Open the list, select Select, then tick the rows. Anywhere on a row ticks it. Choose Remove selected, and you get a confirmation step saying how many people come off. That's what does it. The contacts stay in your address book.
What a list is for
- Narrowing the address book to it, from Filter on the contacts page.
- Exporting those people on their own.
- Inviting the whole group to any event, with Invite to event.
Inviting the group to an event
-
Open Contact lists, then choose Invite to event from the list’s menu
-
Choose the event, then select Next
-
Pick an invitation list or name a new one, then select Next
-
Read the count, turn the email on if you want it sent, then select Create invitations
The page says how many contacts you chose, how many already have an invitation to that event, and how many invitations get created. The switch says how many people get an email, and See this email shows what they’ll get. With the switch off, the invitations are created and you send them later from the event’s Invitations list.
