Send through your own mail server
Send ticket and order email from your own address, through your own mail server and its SMTP details.
6 steps · About 5 minutes · Needs: Your mail server's name, port, username and password, from your mail provider
-
Open Account settings then Email senders
Your accountSettings -
Select Add sender
-
Enter the whole From address and a From name

Enter your mail server's details
Your mail provider lists these, usually on a page about SMTP or about sending from other apps.
- SMTP server, the name of the server, like
smtp.example.com. - Port and Security. Port 587 goes with STARTTLS, and port 465 goes with TLS.
- Username, which is usually the address itself. Leave it empty to use the address.
- Password.
- SMTP server, the name of the server, like
-
Select Add sender to save it
Tito signs in to your mail server before it saves anything. If the server refuses, the reason shows under the box it's about, with what the server said. Once it's saved, the address can send straight away.
Changing the server later
Open the address from the list. Its page shows the server it sends through and when Tito last signed in to it.
- Check connection signs in to the server again, without sending anything.
- Change server details asks for the password again. Tito never shows a password once it's saved.
Good to know
Once one address on a domain sends through your mail server, every address you add on that domain does too, each with its own username and password. A new address is filled in with the first address's server, port and security.
- If your mail server refuses an email, Tito sends it from its own address instead, with replies going to you. The address shows Not sending until an email gets through again, including a test you send yourself.
- In Test mode, email is sent from Tito's own address and never through your mail server.
