Series
Group related events under one name.
What you can do here
A series is a grouping of your own events. It has a name, a web address of its own, and it says which of your events belong to it. Each event keeps its own tickets, orders, attendees and settings.
An event in a series is also addressed under it: the series' address, then
the event's. A meet-tito series holding an event addressed london puts
that event's page at /meet-tito/london. Outside a series, an address has to
be free across your whole account.
You reach series from All series, beside New event at the top of your events list. An event's Settings has a Series picker once your account has two events, and the duplicate page offers Put both events in a series.
Where a series shows up in your admin
Once a series has events in it, your account home gathers them under a heading, with a Series page link that opens what people see. Everything that belongs to no series appears under Not in a series, below. Each event keeps its own figures, and a series has no totals of its own.
Your events list names each event's series under its name, and gains Filter, where series is one of the things it filters by. Filtering works alongside the search, so searching inside a series keeps you inside it.
The page a series gets
A series has a public page of its own, at your account's address followed by the series' web address. It takes your account's colors and lists its events the same way the rest of your public pages do.
- The page shows events people could already find. A draft event is in the series in your admin, and reaches the page once you publish it.
- Events that have finished go under their own heading. Turn Show past events on the series page off to leave them off the page.
What your account page shows
Your account's own public page gives a series one row, with its name, your introduction and how many events it holds, and that row leads to the series page. The events inside it appear only on the series page.
Events that belong to no series appear individually, and so do the events of a series you've marked Unlisted.
Good to know
Putting an event into a second series moves it out of the first. The picker says so before you do it, and names the series it will leave.
That covers moving into a series, out of one, or between two, and renaming the series itself, which moves every event in it. Every address an event has ever had sends people on to wherever it lives now, for as long as the event exists.
- A series address shares one namespace with your event addresses and your custom pages. If a move would put an event on an address something else is using, it's refused and the thing in the way is named.
- Deleting a series deletes the grouping. Its events, their tickets and their orders stay, they go back to short addresses of their own, and the series' address becomes free again. It also ends any colleague's access that was limited to that series, and they keep the access they hold elsewhere.
- Unlisted keeps the series off the list alongside your other events. It keeps its own address either way, so a link you've already sent still works.
