Change a ticket's name, price or quantity

Change a ticket type's name, price or quantity, and the change is live as soon as you save.

4 steps · About 2 minutes

  1. Open the type's own page and select Edit

    Your eventSet upTicket types
  2. On Basics, change the name, description, quantity, price or tax rate

    go.tito.io/acme/summer-fetes-summer-fete/admin/ticket-types/1/edit
  3. Switch to Advanced for anything else

Registration has the per-order cap, the companion rule, and the way to give the ticket away free with another one.

Privacy has two switches. Anonymous tickets collects no attendee details and sends no individual emails, and with QR codes off, attendees check in by name or ticket reference at a staffed desk.

After registering has Override attendee changes, which controls whether attendees can edit their own details.

Buyers change ticket types from their order page, several at once. They can move different tickets to different types, and pay the difference, or get it back, in one go. An upgrade costs the difference between the two ticket prices, whatever they paid, so somebody with a free ticket or a discount code pays the same as everybody else. With price tiers, a ticket bought at a tier counts at what that tier cost, and any other ticket at today's price. Anything that comes back is shown to them to confirm first. If they used a discount code, a downgrade gives back the difference between what they paid and what the cheaper ticket costs them under the same code. They're only offered types every ticket they've picked can change to.

Allow upgrades and Allow downgrades are in the event's settings, under Changing tickets. Each one lists the tickets people can move from.

A ticket you moved to a dearer type, with the difference paid outside of Tito, can't be moved to a cheaper one by the buyer. The same goes for an upgrade they paid by bank transfer. That part never went through their card, so they're asked to contact you, and you move it back from the attendee's page. See Move an attendee to another ticket type.

Appearance color-codes the type in your own lists. On a free ticket, Leave “Free” off this ticket on the event page and widgets lists it with nothing where the price would be. Checkout still says it's free. A ticket with a price always shows it. Show how many are left puts the count beside the ticket on your event page and widgets once When this many or fewer are left is reached. Without it, the count never shows for that ticket.

On a free ticket, Leave this ticket’s name off the sign-up form shows only the questions and the Confirm button when your event page shows this ticket's sign-up form.

  4. Select Save ticket type

Lowering a quantity below what you've already sold cancels nothing.

Sales stop at the new number. To take tickets back, cancel them from the order.
