Enter The question or label and pick its Type
Short answer, long answer, yes or no, pick one, pick any, checkbox, date, number, phone number or country. Each says what it is for beside its name. Pick one and pick any also take a list of choices, one per line. File upload joins the list once your account has file storage set up. A file upload takes any kind of file except a program, such as a .exe or .dmg, which is refused with a message naming the file.
go.tito.io/acme/summer-fetes-summer-fete/admin/questions?new=1We read the type off your wording Open the question with "Do you" and the type becomes yes or no, "When" makes it a date, and "how many" makes it a number. Picking a type yourself stops the reading for good.Start typing and we may suggest the question We keep eleven questions ready to use, among them dietary requirements, access requirements, pronouns and a code of conduct. Picking one fills in the question and its type, and offers its Suggested choices, translated into every language we offer. Some answer to other words too: typing company offers Organization.Pick one and pick any can end in a choice they write in themselves Switch on They can write in an answer of their own under the choices. The list then ends in Other, with a box beside it, and whatever the attendee writes there is stored as their answer. What to call it gives that choice your own word. Left empty, it's called Other in whatever language the attendee is reading in.A phone number is asked with its country The country shows as its flag and calling code beside the number. It starts on the country the attendee's phone or computer is set to. When that isn't known, it starts on the country your event is in, going by the event's timezone. Both are at the top of the list, and attendees can pick any other. Attendees can search the list by the country's name in their language, its two-letter code, or its calling code, like +971. Every number is stored with its calling code, so it's ready to dial from anywhere.Ask for a country with the country type Attendees pick from every country, named in their own language, and can search the list. You get the same answer whatever language they read in, so you can count and filter by it. Countries to show first puts the ones most of your attendees choose at the top, one per line. Countries to offer narrows the list to the ones you name. Leave it empty to offer every country. You can write a country by its name or its two-letter code, like AE.Yes or no, or a checkbox? Pick yes or no for a question where "no" is a real answer you want back. Pick a checkbox for one thing to agree to, like terms. A checkbox only records that it was ticked, so an unticked one tells you nothing. An optional Description shows under the question wherever it's answered. -
Switch on Attach to tickets and tick the ticket types that ask it
Add to all ticks every one. They start optional, and you can make any of them required afterwards on the ticket type itself.
Leave the switch off to write the question now and place it later. -
Select Save question
The Export name is made from the question. It's the column heading in a CSV export, and it appears once your question has words. Select Change on that row to write your own. It's fixed once the question is saved, so answers already collected keep their meaning. With Attach to tickets off, the question isn't asked anywhere yet.It starts collecting answers once you attach it. Sessions, portals, request forms and the order form can ask it too. See Choose who answers a question.
You can start from a ticket type instead. Select Add a question and then Write a new question at the foot of the picker. It takes the wording, type and choices, and puts the question on that ticket as it creates it.Coming from Customize, the form says which ticket it means. It gains a row naming the ticket you came from, with a switch for whether the question must be answered there. That switch is about this ticket only. If you go on to ask the same question somewhere else, it starts optional there.Anything you fill in yourself lives somewhere else.A seat number you put on somebody's ticket, a note only your team reads, a Wi-Fi password for the whole event: all of that is metadata, at Settings → Metadata. See Add a field about your event or its attendees.
