Edit your wording in a spreadsheet

Download all your event's wording as one spreadsheet, and upload it again once it's rewritten.

The spreadsheet holds every word a booker reads on this event, one to a row, with an empty column for the wording you want instead. You can send it to whoever writes your copy, or work through it yourself.

1. Open Customize on the event, then the Words tab

2. At the foot, open Every screen at once and select Download the wording

   You get an .xlsx file with a tab for each of your event's journeys, so a free registration and a paid one are kept apart.

3. Fill in Your wording and save the file

   Leave a row blank to keep the wording that's there.

4. Back on the Words tab, select Upload your new wording

5. Choose your file and select See what will change

   You get a list of every row that's different from the wording you have now.

6. Read the list, then select Add to your draft

7. Open Publish when you're ready for bookers to see it

   Save the file as .xlsx. A CSV keeps only one tab, and your wording is spread across several.

What's in the file

One tab for each of your event's journeys, and one for the words you wrote yourself, such as your event description and your ticket names.

Each row has:

• the screen the wording appears on
• what the wording is for
• the wording now
• an empty column for yours
• a link to where that wording is edited in Tito
• a reference

The reference is how we find the row again when you upload, so you can reorder, hide and insert columns and your file will still be read.

Anyone who can open Customize can download the spreadsheet and upload it.

Rows we can't use

Some rows come back refused. The upload lists each one with the reason before anything reaches your draft, and the rest of the file still goes in.

One reason is worth knowing before you start writing. If the wording has a detail in curly braces, such as {wifi_password}, yours needs to keep it, because that's where the detail is filled in when the page is drawn.

Good to know

Uploading the same file twice changes nothing the second time.

If somebody has already changed a piece of wording in Customize and it isn't published yet, an upload leaves their version alone and tells you which rows it skipped.
