Sell one ticket at several prices

One ticket that changes price as it sells or as dates pass.

4 steps · About 4 minutes

People still see a single row on your event page, and what it costs changes as the ladder moves.

  1. Open the ticket's own page and select Edit

    Your eventSet upTicket types
  2. Select + Add a later price under the price

The price you've already typed becomes the first tier.

    go.tito.io/acme/summer-fete/admin/ticket-types/1/edit
  3. Fill in a row for each price

Each tier has its own Price, how many are Available at it, and the dates it runs, On sale from and Until. Leave a date blank for no limit on that side.

Tiers run in order, top to bottom, and that's the order buyers move through.

  4. Select Save

+ Add a tier gives you another row.

To go back to one price, remove tiers until none are left. The last one you remove puts its price and how many were available back into the plain price box.

More currencies

If your event sells in more than one currency, each tier row has a price box per extra currency, and Price when no tier is on sale gets the same boxes. The live tier's price in a currency is what that currency's page charges. Leave a tier's box blank and the ticket is off that currency's page while that tier is the live one. The rise note under the ticket name uses the next tier's price in the buyer's currency too, and says nothing if there isn't one.

What people see

Buyers see the live price. Tier name is optional, and where you set one it shows as a small gray label under the price, along the lines of "Early bird".

Under the ticket name they also see what's coming, along the lines of "Price rises to €35.00 on 1 August". If a sell-out is what moves the price next, it says that instead.

Tickets a tier doesn't sell

They roll forward. A tier whose window closes with 40 of its 100 unsold passes those 40 to the next tier, so the total you allocated across the ladder is the total the ticket can sell. The line under the card adds them up.

Sell-outs and gaps

Start the next tier early if one sells out opens the next tier the moment one runs out of tickets, instead of leaving the ticket off sale until that tier's dates come round. It's one switch for the whole ladder, and it acts on a sell-out only. Rolling forward already handles a tier's dates ending.

Keep selling when no tier is on sale covers a gap, between two windows or after the last one ends. It's off to start with, so the ticket comes off sale and your event page says when it's back. Turn it on and set Price when no tier is on sale to bridge the gap instead.

Following the ladder

The ticket's own page shows each tier's price, its dates, how much of its allocation has gone, and one word for where it stands: On sale, Open early, Scheduled, Ended or Fully booked. A tier that opened early, and a ladder with nothing on sale, both get a note at the top saying what happened and where to fix it.

Removing a tier that has issued tickets

You can remove any tier. One that has already issued tickets is hidden instead of deleted. It leaves the ladder, your event page and this ticket's own page, and it stops selling immediately. It stays in your Sales report marked "(removed)", with everything it took. A tier that has issued nothing is deleted outright.

The tickets it already issued stay in the ticket's total, so removing a tier that issued 40 from a ladder of 100, 250 and 150 leaves the ticket able to sell 440.

Adding the tier back doesn't undo a removal. The new one starts its own sales from that point on. If you only want to stop a tier for now, set its Until date instead.
