Put your own writing in a portal
Show a welcome, instructions or anything you've written on a portal's pages, or as a page of its own.
4 steps · About 3 minutes
-
Open Portals and select the portal
Your eventSharePortals -
Under Content, select Add content
go.tito.io/acme/summer-fetes-summer-fete/admin/portals/1 -
Choose where it shows
Shows on lists the portal's pages: Tickets, and Details, Documents and Downloads where the portal has them. Tick one or more, then choose where on the page it goes:
- at the top
- before “Issue tickets”, on the Tickets page only, which puts it under the allocation and above the ways to issue tickets
- at the bottom
To give it a page of its own, tick A page of its own. It's listed in the portal's menu after Tickets, under its title, so it needs one. Its address is the portal's link followed by the title, like
/exhibitor-handbook. A portal with only a few sections has no menu, so the page shows as a section under the tickets instead.Once a portal has a page of its own, that page is listed in Shows on too, so you can put other pieces at its top or bottom.
In sets which portals show it:
- Only this portal
- Every portal, including ones you add later
- Chosen portals, which opens a list of your portals to tick
-
Write something, or add something you've written
Write in the editor and select Add. A title is optional unless the piece is a page of its own, which shows it as its heading. Anywhere else the title isn't shown, so write a heading at the top of your words if you want one. Pieces you've already written in Content are listed beside the editor, under Or add one you’ve written. Select one to add it.
The person with the portal's link sees it as soon as you add it.
Changing a piece in a portal
Each piece the portal shows is listed under Content, with the page it's on and which portals show it. Its menu has:
- Edit opens the words. Saving changes them everywhere the piece is shown.
- Move puts it on another page, or somewhere else on the same page. A piece in more than one portal moves in all of them.
- Also show on another page adds it to more pages of the same portals.
- Hide from this portal takes a piece shown in every portal out of this one. It stays in the others.
- Take out of this portal removes a piece shown only here, or in portals you chose.
Hiding or taking out a piece doesn't delete it. What you wrote stays in Content.
Good to know
- A piece on a page the portal doesn't have, like Documents on a portal that doesn't ask for any, doesn't show there. The portal's Content list says so, and the piece appears once you switch that page on.
- The same piece can be on your event page or at an address of its own as well. Open it in Content and Where it’s shown lists every place, with a link to each portal it's in.
- Everyone with the portal's link sees every piece in it, whichever ticket types the piece is kept for.
- A page of its own keeps its address if you change its title later, so links you've sent still work.
